Fly ball Drills
- drop step and read.
- run and pump your arms, reach for ball at the last second.
- fly ball priority drills.
- fungo fly ball practice.
Pitchers Fielding Practice PFPs
- cover first base.
- field a bunt throw to first.
- field a hard bunt and get the lead runner at 2nd or 3rd.
- squeeze and get the out at home.
Catchers
- work on all 3 stances.
- blocking.
- throwing to 2nd and 3rd.
- fielding a bund or slow roller.
- backing up first base on a ground ball, no runners past 1st.
- proper distance from home plate set up. go to one knee and touch hitters back knee.
- catcher popups.
Infield
- turn double plays.
- practice all of the possible double plays.
- diving plays.
Full Defense Drills
- fly ball priorities — I GOT IT, I GOT IT, I GOT IT.
- learn and review the priorities.
- other positions prepare for the next throw, depending on where the runner is.
- Cut-offs and relays.
- Back-ups — where each position goes on each play, every player moves on every play.
